About our Sunday School

The First Reformed Church of Saddle Brook offers Sunday School Classes for all students entering pre-k through 8th grade. These classes are led by church members dedicated to teaching the Word of God as students prepare for their confirmation. Classes meet weekly from 9:30am-10:30am from September-June. An Adult Bible Study is also offered during the Sunday School year.

Our Sunday School program dates back to 1893, before the founding of our church. At that time, the Sunday School met in a barn located at the corner of Essex Street and Rochelle Avenue in Rochelle Park. They later met at the Lincoln School on Market Street (where the present town hall now stands). The Sunday School led the effort to establish our church by purchasing four lots on Ackerman Avenue in 1895 and working with Classis to establish this church in 1900. They later met in our Education Building, which was built in 1925 and burned down in 1952. Since that fire, the Sunday School has met in our current church building.
